WALNUT CREEK — A window of a business located in a busy shopping area right off a freeway exit was shattered Saturday when gunfire rang out, police said.

An employee of the business flagged down a police officer about 9:50 p.m. to report a window to their business had been shattered, Connors said. The business is located in the Walden Center area of Walnut Creek at 2900 Main Street. Police did not say which business was hit by the gunfire. The area includes a Starbucks, a BevMo, a Walgreens, a Sprint store, a hair salon and dry cleaner.
