Kicking off the first leg of the celebration, Mariechan Luiters, Jacqui Carpede and Liesl Penniken will be performing at JD Thomas Hall in Eden Park, Johannesburg, on Friday.

Speaking of how she wants their legacy to be remembered, Mariechan said their journey was one that many aspiring artists can learn from and emulate.

“Our legacy should be that we were one of one. Our music will remain nostalgic, and that we empowered other young artists through our grind and perseverance. We’ve been on big stages and small stages, we’ve performed for thousands and small crowds, we’ve travelled to countries we never imagined at the time, and we performed for Madiba at Oprah Winfrey’s New Year’s Eve party.

“I think we’ve come full circle with a lot we wanted to achieve, but our biggest accomplishment was maintaining a sisterhood throughout, and people knowing our name, knowing who we are, without fail. It’s a great accomplishment that never gets old. “The younger artists still look to us for guidance and our fans to this day will never tire of us. It’s inspiring.”
