Coca-Cola Australia made the 'difficult' decision to pull the popular iced coffee and chocolate milk brand from shelves, saying it was focused on 'offering more of what people love.'

Popular iced coffee and chocolate milk brand Barista Bros has been discontinued in Australia by parent company Coca-Cola, which said it was focusing on"offering more of what people love."

"The decision will allow us to continue to focus on our core portfolio of products and provide even more of what consumers enjoy. The company also announced there were no plans for a "direct replacement" of the supermarket and petrol station staple at this stage, pointing to a list of other beverages it said would fill the gap.

The decision to pull the brand comes after Coca-Cola announced a mass recall of Barista Bros drinks in May. Coca-Cola Australia said the product recall was due to a"potential packaging failure" which could prevent some bottles from properly sealing, creating a risk the drinks would spoil and become unfit for consumption.

Australia’s economy may have ‘hit the wall’Australia has had an increase in spending over the last 12 months but may have “hit the wall” in the last month or so, according to The Herald Sun’s business commentator Terry McCrann. “How do we build that sustainable productive economy – it all comes back to productivity,” Mr McCrann told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “We’re not going to solve it with what the Reserve Bank does, which is raising interest rates, or if we really head into a recession, slashing interest rates - that’s not going to build long-term prosperity.”
