One of Hollywood’s most prestigious awards night has been postponed as uncertainty continues to linger for the industry’s future amid ongoing strikes.

The 2023 Emmy Awards which was supposed to take place on September 18 will not go ahead as planned according to Variety, in the award show’s first postponement since the 9/11 terrorist attacks prompted a reschedule in 2001.

The union’s strike began after four weeks of negotiations with major studios broke down over demands for higher pay, more streamer royalties and assurances that AI would not replace jobs in the industry. to walk out of the film's London premiere to"go and write on their pickets" according to the director.

“It is disgusting. Shame on them. They stand on the wrong side of history at this very moment. We stand in solidarity.”
