Absolute nightmare

The Trafalgar, on North Albert Street, suffered extensive damage when a Toyota Auris reversed through its front on Saturday . The car ended up inside the restaurant in what is believed to have been an accidental crash.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the crash and LancsLive understands that no-one was seriously injured in the collision. The Trafalgar remains closed for the foreseeable future with its owners posting on Facebook to say: "Sorry we are closed this evening will keep you all up to date when we can reopen." and specialises in seafood. It has been inundated with support from shocked customers.

One wrote: "Oh Andrea and Dot and all the family… I’m so shocked and upset for all of you… Unbelievable… I pray that no-one was physically injured and you can get back on track sweethearts doing exactly everything which you’re so superb at doing. A fabulous restaurant with amazing food and lovely owners".

Another added: "How terrible for you all, hope you can soon be back to normal." A third wrote: "This is devastating for any business l hope your beautiful restaurant will be open soon."
