MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Plant Industry assured House lawmakers on Wednesday, August 9, that the Philippines has enough onions until end of the year.
“[It’s] more than ample,” Panganiban replied. “We are not seeing any sudden surge in prices of onion. The prices are stable.” But in a separate press release later Wednesday, Speaker Martin Romualdez said the agriculture committee was seeing indications that the price of onion was beginning to increase again.
