The assailant ran away and Escandon briefly chased him before calling 911 to be taken to a hospital.

He said the attack, as far as he knows, was completely random. Dallas police said Wednesday no arrest has been made in the case.After getting stitches and being bandaged up, Escandon said he needed to complete more rides because he has multiple bills due in the next few days. Uber driver Joshua Escandon was stabbed in the neck while on the job Tuesday night in the parking garage near Whole Foods at The Shops at Park Lane.

Instead of being able to conduct business as normal, he was told his driver account was frozen so Uber could investigate the incident.An Uber spokeswoman confirmed Escandson reported the incident to the company and that it temporarily deactivated his account. The company investigates all incidents as soon as they’re reported, which sometimes involves having to deactivate accounts, Gabriela Condarco-Quesada said.“What this driver went through is terrifying,” Condarco-Quesada said.
