The company said it is still committed to providing customers with 'the best service' until it shuts for good

A Nottinghamshire business has announced its closure after more than 70 years in operation. Transportation business J R Marriott Ltd, Newark announced it will close its doors for the last time at the end of this month.

Speaking to Nottinghamshire Live, J R Marriott confirmed the closure was due to retirement. The trucking company, located in Brunel Drive, said it will not be taking any instructions orders that cannot be fulfilled by its closing date of August 31. Managing director Clifford Dickens told the Newark Advertiser: “It was our sincere effort to offer excellent customer service to our customers over the last 70 years and we hope we were successful in our endeavours. Our commitment to providing you the best service and support is still our top priority."The Newark company was first set up in 1951 and is best known for its freight services.
