A terminally ill Telford man who asked for his telephone and internet connection to be transferred over to his wife's name in preparation for his death was told he would need to pay a £288 charge for ending his contract early.

Adrian Standley, who has terminal cancer, was asked by Virgin Media to pay £288 to transfer his telephone account to his wife's name Adrian Standley, of Majestic Way, Aqueduct, said he was furious at the way he had been treated by Virgin Media after 30 years as a customer.
