SEREMBAN: Local companies should drive innovation and competition so that they are able to compete internationally, says Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

He said on its part, in addition to supporting the development of local firms at all levels, the government is determined that Malaysia produce companies that are competitive in the international market.

Fahmi said if an organisation makes digital technology its core, this would allow it to operate efficiently, increase production, and minimise resource wastage. In his speech earlier, Mydin managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin said the “Semarak Gemilang Malaysia Madani dan Kempen OhMydin! Meriah Bersama” programme was held to mark the retailer’s 66th anniversary.

Ameer Ali said Mydin has also established cooperation with leading ecommerce partners and moved to a new and more innovative platform – TikTok Shop. This includes the “Kita Madani” sales where customers will enjoy discounts of up to 60% for household items, clothes and stationery.
