Byline incorrectly reads $12.5 billion - it's million

7 billion trees are cut down in the world each year. Australia would need to plant 1 billion each year just to stay level as we are still cutting down trees and we have a record rate of deforestation. Higher than any other country on earth.

Planting trees to cut down later, I can see the piss take. auspol environment

A shame lib/nats all over oz have been derailing environmental protections & encouraging land clearing then

That’s million, not billion. This Morrison PR is embarrassing.

So money does grow on trees!

Awesome stuff.

Awesome

Good for jobs AND soaking up carbon emissions!
