Australia will purchase more than 200 long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States at a cost of around $1.7 billion. Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy says this is all about giving the Australian Defence Force “the strike they need” to deter potential aggressors in the region. “Today I’m announcing with Deputy Prime Minister Marles very significant investment in a missile capability of all three services,” Mr Conroy told Sky News Australia.

Australia will purchase more than 200 long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States at a cost of around $1.7 billion.
