A man was pronounced dead Friday morning after he was found trapped in industrial machinery at a business in Ocean County, authorities said. Police were called about 7:30 a.m. to a report of an unresponsive man at 10 Havenwood Court in Lakewood, according to township police Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith.

“Responders were able to free him and began life saving measures. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene,” Staffordsmith said in a statement. The statement said only that the man “was trapped in some kind of industrial machinery.” His name was not released. Staffordsmith said the death is under investigation.
