Set in 2006, the pic follows George — a small-town sixteen-year-old — on the road to complete social and academic failure. Synopsis reads: George dreams of being a star and knows he’s a gifted musician — but no one else seems to agree. So when Max — the son of a mega-famous musical duo — enrolls at his school and takes an interest in his music, George can’t believe it. Neither can anyone else. But as the boys grow closer, George begins to question why he wants to spend time with Max.
Screenplay is by Michael Gilbert from a story by Gilbert and Josh O’Connor. Producers are Stephanie Aspin, Helen Simmons, and Campbell Beaton. Cast features Joe Anders, Samuel Small, Jack Davenport, Alison Sudol, Elle McCloskey, and Ciara Southwood. Original music is by Years and Years lead singer Olly Alexander.
