Collectively, Americans carry more than $1.5 trillion in student loan debt. That financial pain is creating a recruitment opportunity: Some employers are offering to help repay loans on workers' behalf as a way of attracting and keeping younger workers.

Loan sharking and criminal

If you have crushing student loan debt you should try out the trivia app Givling! We crowdfund money to help pay off loans! Use my code C720895 if you try it out😊

Makes one wonder how smart these students are when they accumulate so much debt and don’t even have a job yet with their deploma in some career that thousands of other students also just graduated with ....

Bringing back indentured servitude? You know what came next.

Sounds nice until Universities up tuition even further with the expectation that they will be payed for by corporations.

good its necessary provided that there not enslaved to the company forever

bring that dark cloud of debt to us!

Why the world hates us. Look what we do to our youth to enrich fat cats.

Yeah the libs want us peons to pay it for them

How can you be smart enough to go to college but not smart enough to understand that you have to pay for it?

This headline is false. They don’t “collectively” carry anything; otherwise every person would be responsible for all the debt of the group. The *sum* of the individual debts is $1.5 trillion. There’s a big difference in those two statements.

Schools are taking advantage of kids who don't understand what they are getting themselves into. Kids are stupid enough to enter into 10 or 20 year repayment streams to pay for room and board when local options are available. Parents should tell their kids no.

vultures

Indentured servitude for the 21's century...

interesting, I wonder how much downward pressure there is on starting salary if a company is paying some of the tuition debt.

The tuition money is nearly guaranteed by the government. Universities have a cash cow just like banks did with Fanny and Freddy.

A third of that could be paid off by endowments large universities have in the bank.

Sounds like indentured servitude with extra steps

Quick bring in more H1B immigrants!

OR...... don’t go into debt to pay for college.

Who ever thought that trapping our kids under a mountain of debt before they even have a chance to get started im life was a good idea? Free state college, tuition caps, and loan forgiveness.

I'm sure every person in America has a studentloan somewhere in their Debt Filing Cabinet.... if that doesn't tell you it's a whole scam ...I don't know what will. 🙄

Where they at tho

Sign. Me. Up.

Wow I wish they would do something for older workers. People over 50 have a hell of a time getting hired. Especially men.

As they should

I would definitely work for an employer that helped pay my loans on top of paying me for employment.

1. InState & Community college tuitions are affordable by anyone 2. Significant Federal aid/ Grants & Scholarships available 3.People are responsible for thr decisions to take on debt for education & shld remain so 4. Lk at true costs per student per yr. It is abt 50% of tuition

The education system is a business after all. Why are people constantly complaining over purchases they chose to make? Lack of responsibility and accountability perhaps?

Strangely, that is the amount spent on ‘War’ in/with Afghanistan. But we cannot afford free college!!! Can anyone even imagine how much of a positive effect no college debt would have on our economy?

It's still income. Just a marketing gimmick.

tax deductions for the employer. Minimum wage for the employee

Debt is a form of social control

So much student loan debt and yet so much stupidity.
