Prime Minister Scott Morrison has defended his focus on asylum seekers who arrive by boat

BOILER-PIPE: Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Scott Morrison has defended his intense focus on asylum seekers who arrive by boat, when thousands more people arrive by plane each year asking for Australia's protection.

Christmas Island 'not equipped' to deal with new asylum seekers: Council "People don't die on planes. They die on boats," Mr Morrison told the ABC's 7:30 program. "These are people who have to pass a character test to get on a plane. The character test applies to everybody who comes to this country through the official channels." However, people can come to Australia on tourist visas and then claim asylum, without undertaking character tests.

How will the 'medevac' bill actually affect ill asylum seekers? Meanwhile, Mr Morrison has defended a contentious $423 million contract awarded to a little-known company called Paladin for services on Manus Island. The company, whose Australian arm was until recently registered to a beach shack on Kangaroo Island, was awarded the contract through a closed tender process. Tell me about this “character test”

They also die on islands we send them to.

Totally flawed strategy.

Can ScottMorrisonMP explain the character test that AsylumSeekers have when they arrive by ✈️ planes auspol

You keep misspelling 'illegally' SBS.

“But, border security... but, refugee welfare... but, visa checks for airborne arrivals...” ScottMorrisonMP be like... you’re fooling no one you clown.

If you really believe that then offer asylum seekers free flights. It will save their lives and save Australia a mint.

So it's okay to come by plane

Have you considers bringing immigrants here on one of those new Indonesian airlines? Just to give Australians a sporting chance?
