The one-bedroom apartment was advertised as a delightful ground-floor apartment with its own private courtyard. Within a day the price was raised twice due to increased market interest.

The rental price for a property in St Kilda was increased twice in the space of a few hours.Rental advocates say the practice exposes gaps in tenancy laws and prices people out of the market

According to the message, the change was made at the request of the owner "due to a greater than anticipated market demand".
