Starting wage: $18 an hour.

This might be New York’s most punishing job interview. And dozens of hopefuls showed up for it over two days in late January. The jobs up for grabs were with Ms. Streb’s Extreme Action dance company, which has a style somewhere between dance, circus and performance art.
