Amazon wants to reduce its carbon footprint and give customers more control over when they receive their packages. The company found a way to achieve both in one new program.

Starting Tuesday, all Prime members in the United States will be able to select a particular day to receive a week's worth of Amazon deliveries. After a Prime member enrolls in the"Amazon Day" service, Amazon will hold everything they order throughout the week, and it will deliver the items together on the customer's selected day.Amazon's new feature could persuade customers who place multiple orders a week to receive them all together.

The company says Amazon Day will help it achieve that goal: The delivery option has already eliminated tens of thousands of boxes since testing the feature in November, according to Maria Renz, Amazon's vice president of delivery experience. Amazon also recently introduced frustration free packaging designed to produce less waste and has invested in solar and wind farms.

After reading the comments, it appears people are only serious about 'climate change' if it doesn't inconvenience them.

I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with reducing cost.

Porch Pirate day

So I use the next Amazon. Dopey idea.

This headline is misleading. Nothing new for CNN. Starting Tuesday Prime customers will have the *option* to select the option to have their orders received all at one. By allowing them to select a day that's best for them.

Apparently it’s optional, which is certainly better for the consumer, but may negate their attempt at sustainability? I’ll look forward to see how this turns out.

njmike731 No0o0! Don't know what to do .. My Prime subscription is up this month.

I just rejoined prime too. Adios if this true.
