U.K. stocks increased Wednesday, as the FTSE 100 Index closed up 0.93% at 7,731.65. Among FTSE 100 constituents, residential building construction company...

Among FTSE 100 constituents, residential building construction company Taylor Wimpey PLC TW, +5.55% saw the largest increase Wednesday, as shares climbed 5.55%.

BT Group PLC BT.A, +4.34%, a wired telecommunications services company, and home goods retail business Kingfisher PLC KGF, +4.30% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rose 4.34% and 4.30%, respectively. Shares of advertising/marketing/public relations firm WPP PLC WPP, -1.96% and building materials/products company Melrose Industries PLC MRO, -1.80% fell 1.96% and 1.80%, respectively.

The pound was down 0.06% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.02% at $1.2385 and 0.35% against the euro GBPEUR, -0.36% at €1.1561.
