British Airways parent company makes an $18.6 billion vote of confidence in Boeing's latest long-range aircraft

The airline's parent company, IAG, has made a commitment to by up to 42 777X aircraft, including 18 orders and 24 options, valued at $18.6 billion at list prices.British Airways has selected the 777-9 which will debut next month. The 777X borrows from technological advances made in the development of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, with improvements to the interior and the fuselage including anThe aircraft can accommodate 400-425 passengers in a standard two-class cabin configuration and has 12% lower fuel consumption than competing aircraft, with a standard range of 7,600 nautical miles.
