New York City's deputy mayor for housing and economic development, Alicia Glen, told CNBC on Friday, her last day in office, that she'd like to see more women running big companies — and if that were the case, deals like the now-scuttled Amazon headquarters plans for Queens might have different outcomes.
"If there were more women running large companies, there would be a different way in which people engage with communities. There would be a different way in which people started to threaten to leave, etc.," Glen said in a "Squawk Box" interview. She added,"I don't think it's sexist at all." However, many other New York politicians and CEOs are trying to get Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos to change his mind. They wrote an open letter, which appeared in The New York Times, saying a"clear the majority of New Yorkers support this project." The effort, paid for by the Partnership for New York business group, said Democratic New York Gov.
Amazon deal would survive if woman like AOC wouldn't be elected to the Congress. What a shame!

Except a woman, AOC, was one of the loudest voices trying to kill the 25,000 jobs. So that sort of kills the philosophy - in this case - a woman killed the deal, killed the jobs, harmed the economy! But I suppose Bernie Sanders would have been happy to do the same - he is a man!
Amazon was nothing 20 years ago. How come a woman did not start this company and grow it? There were mistakes all around, and yes, Bezos getting any breaks seems silly, but it is not his fault the far left of the party cratered the deal - for political purposes.

Amazon should go to the North Carolina, Tennessee or Georgia and not even think about NYC another second. These states can absorb a new HQ without worrying about sky rocketing RE because they have plenty of space to build new real estate.
