Former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott has been nominated to the board of the Fox News Corporation. The board is undergoing a reshuffle after Fox and News Corp Chair Rupert Murdoch announced he will be stepping back and transitioning to Chairman Emeritus. With two vacancies now on the board, Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch has welcomed the nominations of former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott and Magic Leap CEO Peggy Johnson. The nominations will need to be formalised at the annual general meeting of Fox Corp’s board in November 2023. Lachlan Murdoch has also thanked Aragon CEO Anne Dias and business executive Jacques Nasser for their “invaluable contributions” to the board and to Fox.
