Solstice has opened on Detroit Avenue in the former Deagan's Kitchen and Bar location. The restaurant and bar is owned by seven Cleveland-area restaurant industry professionals.

, the latest Detroit Avenue bar to take over the spot that once housed Deagan’s Kitchen and Bar.

The pair went to Deagan’s Thursday burger night and sat at the bar. They were aware that Deagan’s owners were trying to sell. Their friend and longtime Deagan’s employee Andrea Tsiros, Solstice’s general manager, told the duo about some deals that fell through for the building’s new owners. “It’s taking in kind of that solstice part of the Solstice Steps and making it very Lakewood,” Rosen said.Rosen worked for Deagan’s, doing work similar to her new job at Solstice, from menu curation to party planning. The idea is that each owning member has their own niche to focus on to make the restaurant come together.

A major distinguisher to Solstice’s drinks is that they will have 11 draft cocktails. Lebovic makes 5-gallon batches of cocktails in kegs. He shakes the entire keg as if it were a cocktail shaker The drinks include classic cocktails like Cosmopolitans, negronis, palomas, and Old Fashioneds. Many of the drinks can be made alcoholic, like the blackberry Tom Collins.
