Alex Tomic didn’t find university challenging, so he quit. Now he’s worth $125 million and climbing, as the toothpaste-related company he formed with a childhood friend shines bright.

Alex Tomic, the Young Rich Lister introvert son of theme park workers, is a calculated risk-taker.

“It was a huge burden [making the decision]; the money that you have to spend, that you won’t return for multiple years down the track. [But] we really have to take this gamble,” Tomic tells“And we have to go all in. You can’t dip your toe in and hope for the best. When you do this, you have to do it right. You have to get the best minds and operate in a very different way.”

White tubes of gooey mint toothpaste? Forget it, how about grape bubblegum, coconut whip or red velvet in pretty pump packs in purple, green and red? Forget cheap too. Their version retails at $13 each. Alex Tomic, co-founder Hismile: “We have to go all in. You can’t dip your toe in and hope for the best.”Tomic, 30, believes being an introvert allows him to sit back and observe, and that helps drive his business success. But he says introverts need to focus on their passion.

“Anyone that wants to work with her, she has to love your product. She has to want to use your products,” Tomic says.
