In 2016, the gluten-free market was worth £2.5billion. By 2020, it is expected to be worth more than £670million, thanks to 13 per cent of us now following a gluten-free diet

As more people turn to gluten-free loaves in a bid to tackle gut disorders, consumers are being warned that up to 27 different products can be used to make them. The findings are revealed in new Channel 5 documentary, Secrets of Your Supermarket Food, due to be screened this week. Viewers will also be alarmed to hear about the food poisoning risk from bagged salads and the high sugar content of on-the-go breakfasts.
