Passengers have hit out, saying they're 'housebound'

Bus operator McGill’s has announced it’s pulling all services from West Lothian, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.

Lynne White said: “Absolute shambles. We are a growing town that can’t organise a bus service that helps everyone! He continued: “We were fully aware of the challenges that existed for the business in West Lothian when we took over late last year, and throughout that period, we have strived to make changes that might place the operation onto an even keel in the medium- to long-term,” he explains.

A council spokesperson said: “This is clearly going to cause significant disruption to those that use the bus network in West Lothian and it is very sad news for those that work for McGills Eastern Scottish. This is as significant blow for bus users locally, and it highlights the major problems that many commercial operators are experiencing across Scotland.
