Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index HSI, -1.36% declined 1.4% to 17,373.03, while the Nikkei 225 Index NIK, -1.54% of Japanese companies dropped 1.5% to 31,872.52.

Shares of rail passenger transport firm Keio 9008, -3.24% and rail transport company Odakyu Electric Railway 9007, -2.98% weakened 3.2% and 3.0%, respectively. Of the the Hang Seng Index constituents, gambling industries company Galaxy Entertainment Grp 27, -5.73% saw the largest decline in Hong Kong, as shares weakened 5.7% on Thursday.
