This year marks the 75th anniversary since the D-Day landings, and to commemorate the lives lost The D-Day Story museum has commissioned a sculpture in their honour

Their mission - Operation Deadstick - was to secure a bridge over the River Orne and another over the Caen Canal to stop German tanks reaching the Normandy beaches the following morning on D-Day. Among the men who left RAF Tarrant Rushton in Dorset was Lieutenant Denham"Den" Brotheridge, who landed less than 50 feet from the water tower of the Benouville Bridge and led the first charge at what is now known as Pegasus Bridge.
