It comes after major backlash towards water firms over sewage leaks.

in the UK, water companies are looking to increase bills by approximately £156 a year by 2030 to improve their services.

It said this money could also reduce sewage leaks by a quarter by 2030 and it will invest £11 billion to reduce overflow spills.According to The Times, If water firms don’t meet the targets the watchdog sets for them, Ofwat will restrict the money they can take. During Ofwat’s review of the water companies, not a single one of the country’s water companies was put in the “leading” category.
