Former Blues coach Laurie Daley has admitted he is open to returning to the top job as NSW Rugby League looks to replace Brad Fittler after his shock resignation last week.

Watch every match of The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Live on Kayo Sports. Starts THU 6 OCT 7:30PM AEDT.The sudden decision left NSWRL searching for a replacement, with veteran rugby league reporter Danny Weidler claiming there is a “push behind the scenes” for Daley to return.“I’m not saying that you’re driving it and you’re responsible for that but there are people rallying support for you behind the scenes. That’s a fact.

Daley, who coached the Blues from 2013 to 2017, said it would be an “option” but also stressed he was always happy to help NSW in any capacity should the team request it. “I’ve said along if people thought I could help out I would help out in any role. Coach could be an option, being a mentor, being in a leadership role, whatever it may be. I’m always happy to help where I can.”Weidler went on to say he had been told Daley, who only won six of 15 games in charge of the Blues, had “unfinished business”.
