The agriculture and food security ministry takes samples from wholesalers to ensure no mixing of local and imported rice.

Headed by deputy minister Chan Foong Hin, the joint operation saw 42 enforcement officers taking samples of rice and inspecting warehouse stocks around Selangor.

The samples will be handed over to the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute for analysis, the ministry said in a statement today.
