This is one of the headline findings in the latest quarterly economic survey from Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, published today.
Only a quarter of companies saw improved sales during the third quarter of this year, compared with just under a third in the previous survey. Employers reported a rise in staff numbers in spite of their ongoing recruitment challenges. More than 10% are looking to grow their teams further over the final three months of this year.
The anonymous survey – which is open to all businesses whether or not they are members of the Chamber – looked at a range of key issues including cashflow, sales, skills, recruitment, training, investment, and business confidence. Ruth Ross said: “It’s really important for us that as many businesses as possible take time to fill in this survey. It is completely anonymous – so that you can speak freely – and takes only a few minutes.
