Microsoft is planning to finally complete its $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard next week, according to a new report.

After nearly two years, Microsoft's Activision Blizzard deal could finally come to a close next week. As reported by The Verge, Microsoft will finalize the deal on Friday, October 13, pending approval from UK regulator, the Competition and Markets Authority . The CMA has until October 18 to give its final decision on the deal, though it's reported that approval will come next week.

After previously blocking the deal over concerns with cloud gaming, the regulator provisionally approved Microsoft's takeover of Activision Blizzard last month after Microsoft submitted a revised deal that would see Ubisoft acquire the cloud gaming rights for Activision games. As for the US Federal Trade Commission, it is continuing to challenge the deal, but Microsoft will still be able to close out the acquisition despite the FTC's objections.
