We still have a long way to go in reaching gender equality in business, particularly in entrepreneurship. There continues to be a gender gap in new venture financing, particularly amongst women of color and women in developing countries .

One suggestion in literature has been for women to be more active in"disembodied" professions, such as technology, as a type of"stop-gap" measure in the fight for equality. However, female digital entrepreneurs experience the same level of discrimination as their non-digital female peers, especially in the area of resource constraints . This means that you can be the best in your field, but because you are female, you have less access to staff and equipment.

One facet of women entrepreneurs must be addressed—the chronic stress associated with constantly having to push against barriers. This is particularly true of entrepreneurs that are women of color, who face more discrimination and harassment than their white peers. While some adversity can propel us forward, chronic stress can lead to burnout.

Sometimes the personality factors that make women great business owners, like being goal-oriented, can lead to Feelings of burnout include feeling that your work doesn't make a difference, experiencing physical exhaustion, health issues, or even having suicidal thoughts. It's of utmost importance that women entrepreneurs put self-care first.
