Australian shares are set to open up on Tuesday. Brent was up though steady. Energy shares rallied in New York. Bitcoin eased.

ASX futures were up 14 points or 0.2 per cent to 7016 near 4.30am AEDT.In New York: BHP -1.9% Rio -1.9% Atlassian +1.5%The local currency was 0.2 per cent higher; the Bloomberg dollar spot index was little changed.In a note, LPL Financial said in keeping with the Federal Reserve’s ‘higher for longer’ mantra and the surge in yields it was revising higher its forecast for the US 10-year yield.

: “Dow Theory remains bullish since the July reversal although both the Industrials and Transports are considerably off their 2023 highs. The Nasdaq Composite index is setting up for a counter-trend rally on the daily chart while the Russell 2000 broke down out of a longstanding compressing range .
