The pay dispute between Netball Australia and its players has reached a new low, with negotiations failing once again. As of September 30, Australia’s top netballers are technically unemployed after the Super Netball contracts expired, with new deals for players impossible without the existence of a Collective Players’ Agreement .
The Diamonds beat England to become world champions. And while on one hand players are dealing with the tumultuous off-season, on the other, they have to prepare for a Constellation Cup series against New Zealand beginning on Thursday and a series against South Africa to follow. In a defiant statement released on behalf of the playing group, the Australian Netball Players’ Association said talks between the two partied “have failed”.
