Waymo on Monday announced its autonomous ride-hailing service now covers all of The City’s nearly 47 square miles. The company said the around-the-clock expansion applies to all of its current riders and those who get access moving forward, including those currently on the company’s waitlist.
Chris Bonelli, Waymo’s product communications manager, told The Examiner that the move is part of the company’s attempt to build “on the thousands of riders who have been enjoying this access for the past couple of months.” Capp Street barriers to become permanent fix despite local skepticism Barriers installed on the street meant to be a temporary solution to the traffic caused by sex work and trafficking are now going to be made permanent
Waymo said at the time it had 250 vehicles in its fleet. Cruise agreed, at the California Department of Motor Vehicles’ direction, to reduce its fleet to, at most, 50 cars during the day and 150 at night.
