U.S. stocks booked a 3-session win streak Tuesday as oil prices and bond yields retreated. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.40% climbed about 134 points, or 0.4%, ending near 33,739, according to preliminary FactSet data. That was the longest streak of straight wins for the blue-chip index in a month, and the best three days of gains since late August, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The S&P 500 index SPX, +0.52% advanced 0.

5% and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.58% gained 0.6%. It was the third session in a row of gains for all three indexes. The brighter backdrop for stock market came as oil prices CL00, -0.68% and bond yields TMUBMUSD10Y, 4.653% retreated and after Raphael Bostic, head of the Atlanta Fed, said he didn’t think additional rate hikes were needed to bring inflation down to the central bank’s 2% annual target, but also that he still sees rates staying high for a “long time.
