A top police officer says there has been a fundamental change in the way people buy illegal drugs.

NI drug supply market 'transformed' by social mediaDevelopments in social media apps have transformed Northern Ireland's illegal drug supply market, a leading police officer has said.

Det Supt Emma Neill was speaking after the Police Service of Northern Ireland raided properties across Belfast, seizing mobile devices. She told BBC News NI nearly 2,000 phone numbers found on the seized devices have been contacted by text. The texts sent by police offered "signposting and some support" for people involved in drug use, she said.
