The Malay Vehicle Importers and Traders Association of Malaysia has announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s Dongfeng Motor. This will see the launch of Dongfeng’s first right-hand drive new energy vehicle in Malaysia sometime in the middle of next year., which is a compact electric vehicle that recently made its debut in China. Malaysia will be the first RHD market for the Nammi 01, which will also be a CKD model as localisation is in the pipeline.
In terms of size, the five-seat Nammi 01 measures 4,030 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,660 mm. The EV was briefly– which has since been removed – and is seen on every page of the MoU press release from the association today. “DFMC’s impressive track record and wealth of experience in the automotive industry are significant assets for this venture.
