Abbott Laboratories – Shares rose nearly 3% after the medical devices company gave a strong third-quarter report. Abbott posted earnings of $1.14 per share, excluding items, beating analysts' estimates by 4 cents a share, according to FactSet. The company brought in $10.14 billion in revenue versus expectations of $9.82 billion. It also raised the lower end of its full-year earnings guidance.
