A family has told of their heartbreak after an Adelaide man was allegedly killed by his mate on a boys’ trip to Melbourne. Alex Robinson, 20, died at a La Trobe St apartment on May 13. Police allege Robinson and a friend were wrestling in the apartment when the former lost consciousness. Paramedics could not revive Robinson who died at the scene. Quinn McPherson, 20, was arrested at his worksite at Magill on Wednesday morning and charged with manslaughter over Robinson’s death.

“It is just a really bad situation for all,” sister Mia Robinson said. “Sad for our family but also sad for his friends. It is just sad for everyone involved. “We are missing Al lots and would like the privacy these sort of situations deserve.” Two other Adelaide men also inside the apartment at the time were not involved, police said. McPherson faced Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday evening and was released on bail.
