Wike said that the FCTA has set up a joint task force on cross-border crimes to tackle the security menace called one-chance robbery. The minister said that the FCTA is also planning to shut down some of the illegal motor parks in the city. Stakeholders in Kogi State, especially those from Kogi East, have condemned the alleged instigation of violence in the senatorial district by the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Muritala Yakubu, saying it is capable of disenfranchising voters in the zone and working against serious contenders from Kogi East.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, , Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba-Marwa has charged newly trained 2,500 personnel of the agency to stand firm and reject insidious temptations that will come their way from drug barons and cartels.
