The benchmark index opened 2.58 points lower at 1,675.66 and moved between 1,673.47 and 1,678.88 throughout the day. Sector-wise, the Financial Services index lost 18.29 points to 17,470.23, the Industrial Products and Services Index was 0.05 of-a-point easier at 170.22 and the Plantation Index was 30.54 points weaker at 7,218.42.
