FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaska has just received a huge grant to strengthen the state’s electrical grid.

The federal funds for the grant were secured by the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act which was supported by Senators Murkowski and Sullivan, as well as the late representative Don Young. Senator Dan Sullivan also released a statement, saying “maintaining access to electricity, especially for communities far from larger population centers, can be a matter of life and death during an emergency.”
