Welcome to life after Theranos.At its peak in 2014, the blood-testing startup was a darling of Silicon Valley. Theranos reportedly had a $9 billion valuation, a retail partnership with Walgreens, and a board stacked with political heavyweights like Henry Kissinger and George Schultz. Hundreds of employees joined the company to help it fulfill the ambitious mission of creating a cheaper and more efficient alternative to traditional medical tests. Then it all began to unravel.

There's still a Theranos?

This is a story that needs to be told. There are few things more soul destroying than dedicating time and effort on a product that has no chance of getting off the ground. Being sold a lie like that can cause a lot of emotional damage.

Well, the scientific/medical types need really good answers to (1) so you thought the science was sound? and (2) why did you stsy more than a few months?

I read Thanos and thought, “yea killing half the world is a PR nightmare.” 💀
