Of the FTSE 100 constituents, general mining company Rio Tinto PLC RIO, +3.47% saw the largest increase Tuesday, as shares climbed 3.47%.
Antofagasta PLC ANTO, +2.39%, a non-ferrous metals company, and company Severn Trent PLC SVT, +2.35% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks increased 2.39% and 2.35%, respectively. Shares of major international banks firm Barclays PLC BARC, -6.53% and wholesalers company Bunzl PLC BNZL, -3.95% dropped 6.53% and 3.95%, respectively.
The pound was down 0.63% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.62% at $1.2170 and was up 0.06% against the euro GBPEUR, +0.07% at €1.1486.
