Tesla just introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Model Y, a crossover SUV that will cost from $39,000 to $60,000 depending on configuration.
According to Musk, however, the Model Y will share about 75 percent of its components with the company's Model 3 electric sedans, allowing Tesla to start manufacturing the new SUV for far less money that it spent to begin producing the Model 3. Tesla previously said it would most likely manufacture the Model Y at Gigafactory 1, its sprawling battery plant outside of Reno, Nevada. Musk did not confirm this plan at the unveiling event.
What’s next? Models B then A then b then e?
Is the Model S and E and X and Y just a bit too juvenile?
Yeah, it’s not even designed yet and it will ship next year. I am old enough to remember when you idiots could be trusted to report on financial news. That 🚢 has sailed.
Mingle X and Model 3...and it is a Y...; not my taste
Can we get a real electric SUV? I’m in “can’t get to work without 4-wheel drive” country and can’t see either this, or the Model X getting me from point A to point B safely.
7? Two adults and 5 toddlers.
That’s one ugly looking car
