Tesla unveiled its long-awaited Model Y at the company's design studio in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

Tesla shares opened down 5 percent Friday morning, hours after the company unveiled the Model Y crossover utility vehicle that some Wall Street analysts are calling 'underwhelming.'

CEO Elon Musk dove into one of the hottest segments in the automotive market with the long-awaited debut of the Model Y at its design studio in Los Angeles on Thursday night. The Model Y will cost $39,000 to $60,000 depending on the extras and is about 10 percent bigger than Tesla's Model 3 mid-size sedan. It features seven seats, a panoramic glass roof and 66 cubic feet of cargo space, Musk said, showing off a Model Y prototype at the Tesla Design Center on Thursday night."The problem was the timing of first deliveries," Nelson said.

You’ve been sitting on that headline for months. What did you expect it to fly? Why don’t you actually report real news, like how Tesla and elonmusk are making the world a better place to live.

The only way you could be 'underwhelmed' by the Model Y is if you haven't been paying any attention to Tesla. It's EXACTLY what we've been expecting for years and EXACTLY what elonmusk told you to expect. As promised, it's a higher riding hatchback/CUV version of the Model 3.

Elonmusk where's my masculine auto body? ModelWhy
